Renderers: Select from the drop down list below

Renderers convert waste animal tissue into stable, value-added materials.

The majority of tissue processed comes from slaughterhouses but other sources such as restaurant fat can also be used.

The rendering process simultaneously dries the material and separates the fat from the bone and protein. Typical products of the rendering process include tallow (edible and inedible) and protein meal (meat and bone or blood meal).

A map of NZ rendering premises can be downloaded from here.
